After a bit of holiday shopping online, you track your package and are excited to see it’s been delivered! But, when you finally get home, your package is nowhere to be found. After the delivery person dropped your package off, thieves came along and stole it right off your front porch. You are a victim of porch pirates, a crime which is unfortunately becoming all too common. Don’t let these thieves ruin your holiday season! There are ways to protect yourself from porch pirates, and they don’t involve expensive security systems or elaborate delivery instructions.

  1. Have your shipments sent to a private mailbox. Especially if you frequently receive packages throughout the year, having a private mailbox gives you a secure place to have your mail and packages delivered. With a private mailbox rental at AIM Mail Center, you can receive packages from UPS, FedEx and USPS, and they will be kept safe until you’re able to pick them up.
  2. Package receiving on an as-needed basis. Some AIM Mail Center locations offer this service, so give the store near you a call for more information.
  3. Have your packages delivered to your office. This is a good way to beat porch pirates if your employer allows the delivery of personal packages.
  4. Add a signature-required option to your package. This requires the driver to have a person sign for the package before delivery is complete, so your package will be left with either the recipient or another authorized person.

This holiday season, you can depend on the AIM Mail Center nearest you to make your holiday errands faster and easier. Whether you need to ship gifts to out of town friends or family or rent a private mailbox to avoid porch pirates, the friendly professionals are ready to help you. Enlist the help of your neighborhood AIM Mail Center location to avoid some of the stress and hassle of the holidays so you can get back to enjoying the season with your friends and family.

*Note: Not all services are offered at all locations; please call your local AIM Mail Center for more information on package receiving services.
