Weatherford, Texas is a historic town with a rich western heritage. A tradition in Weatherford that dates back to the late 1800s is First Monday Trade Days. Known as one of the oldest open-aired markets in Texas, First Monday Trade Days is a traditional monthly event in Weatherford.
In the late 1800s, local farmers, ranchers, and merchants would buy, sell or trade livestock, handmade goods, produce, and other items to large crowds who gathered during the monthly legal trials at the courthouse.
Today, First Monday Trade Days is popular with both residents and visitors of Weatherford. With over 500 vendor spaces, those looking for artwork and antiques have a good chance of finding the items they desire. Other unique vendor offerings include jewelry, iron works, pottery, furniture, and great festival food.Located in the Weatherford Historical District, the First Monday grounds are off Santa Fe Drive (map). The grounds are open to the public from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the First Monday.
