A great, family-friendly place to experience the arts in Beaverton is My Masterpiece Art Studio, an art studio which offers a variety of art experiences with clay, paint, drawing, mixed media and printmaking.
My Masterpiece Art Studio opened in February 2007 as a place for artists of all ages to learn about and create art. With 3,000 square feet of creative space for painting, drawing or sculpting, My Masterpiece Studio offers a variety of art classes and an open studio. The Open Studio allows artists of all skill levels to create art and work with other artists.
During the Art Hour each week, budding artists from ages 6 and up are invited to come and learn new art skills and create their own masterpieces. For those who have an hour to spare, the Art Hour offers a fun way to embrace one’s creative side. The Art Hour happens at My Masterpiece Art Studio on Saturday afternoons and select Fridays. Each week, participants get to try out a new medium, like acrylic paint, charcoal, pastel chalk or clay. Classes are based on seasonal themes, specific art media or master artists.
The current theme is “The Color of Summer,” and the next lesson is on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 1pm – 2pm. The featured lesson is “Yellow as Lemons,” and participants will be working with acrylic paint on canvas to create a still life.
