Lakewood, Washington is located in an area once known as the Lakes District. Within a twenty-mile radius, there are a number of lakes with public access where locals and visitors can enjoy the scenery, picnic, and have some good recreational fun. Lakewood also offers a variety of dining and shopping with interesting and unique shops like The Key Antiques, the Lakewood Gallery, and Steeped in Comfort. One of the places locals and visitors should check out is the Art and Clay Studio on Bridgeport Way SW. Artists young and grown will enjoy painting pottery, molding clay, or throwing (forming) a pot on the pottery wheel.
Nicolle LaFave, who owns the Art and Clay Studio, has created a fun and cozy place for people of all ages to relax and hone their painting and pottery skills. She hosts private parties and classes and spends time daily teaching walk-ins different techniques. Private classes are available for groups of six or more. Those who have a specific project they would like to do can plan a time to go in, and Nicolle can help with or teach the technique to complete the project.
Along with pre-made items that are ready to be painted, the Art and Clay Studio also offers clay for molding one’s own masterpiece. This is great for handprint impressions, which make wonderful keepsakes and gifts. For those with more advanced pottery skills, there’s a potter’s wheel available. The Art and Clay Studio will fire the project, and then the creator can return to paint it and get it glazed.
Trust the AIM Mail Center in Lakewood, WA to help with safely packaging and shipping artwork and pottery you purchase or create at the Art and Clay Studio.
