Members of the community who want to donate can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the AIM Mail Center at 16027 Brookhurst St from now through December 17th. Besides making the holidays brighter for a deserving child, anyone who makes a donation will receive a coupon for 10% off holiday shipping via FedEx, UPS, or DHL. “We are so excited to have our store as a drop-off center again,” says Hansa, who volunteered the store as a drop off center last year. “Times have been tough, and we believe in helping those who have suffered from the current economic conditions, especially children.” The Toys for Tots program started in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR and a group of Marine Reservists collected and distributed 5,000 toys to children in need. Since then, the Toys for Tots program has become a non-profit charity which collects new, unwrapped toys from October through December every year. The toys are distributed to needy children in the community where the gifts were collected.
