Irvine, California is a planned city in Orange County and is home to a number of colleges and corporations.  Ranked by Business Week as the 5th best city in the US in 2011, the city of Irvine offers its residents libraries, parks, an arts center, and more.  Providing a place to see, learn about, and create art, The Irvine Fine Arts Center is a unique facility with specialized studios designed for painting, ceramics, photography, and more.  The Fine Arts Center offers a variety of art classes for beginners to advanced artists and hosts art programs for children.  Each year, the Irvine Fine Arts Center hosts the Studio Arts Festival, their annual fundraiser, in Heritage Park. On Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 9am to 5pm, locals and visitors to Irvine can participate in this year’s Studio Art Festival.  The Festival features more than 100 local and national artists displaying and selling a variety of original artwork.  Those attending the Festival can expect to find ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, glass art and more.  There will also be live music and food to enjoy while shopping for fine art by Southern California artists.  Don’t miss the art demonstrations, and be sure to pick up an ice cream sundae sold in handmade ceramic collector bowls. Proceeds from the Studio Art Festival will go to special projects and art programs sponsored by the Irvine Fine Arts Center.  Some of the recent purchases made possible by past fundraisers include new kilns, glaze mixers, and spray booths for the ceramics department. When it’s time to get your new fine artwork home, there are two AIM Mail Center locations in Irvine, one at 5319 University Dr and one at 6789 Quail Hill Pkwy to help with your art shipping and packaging needs – across town or across the country.
